A message from the Galilee Center regarding COVID-19

March 19, 2020

We wanted to let our community and supporters know that the Galilee Center remains open and is taking the necessary precautions to keep our clients and staff safe. We are following the guidelines by the Riverside County Health Department of Food Service. Furthermore, our staff and clients are encouraged to follow health guidelines by the CDC at https://www.cdc.gov/.

Among other safety and preventative measures, we have implemented protocols of deep cleaning and disinfecting common areas every two hours, e.g., doors, doorknobs, flat surfaces, chairs, phones, desks and computers.  We have placed hand sanitizers around the facility for employees and those using our services.  We have posted information about coronavirus in English and Spanish in all common areas throughout our facility.

Food distribution has been switched to prepackaged distribution, therefore we will be asking volunteers to come early to help package boxes. Volunteers are welcome to stay for distribution or just help with packaging. We appreciate any help you can offer!

Galilee thrift stores remain open for business and we will continue to see clients by appointment for all other emergency services.

This is a trying time for all, but especially for our clients. As the current situation unfolds, we foresee there will be an increased demand for our services and are prepared to meet that need.
We need your continued support more than ever! Sickness and emergencies impact our poor population harder than anyone else. We must continue to support them with shelter and food. Please, if you have it in your heart to contribute a little extra this month, it would make a big difference as we anticipate it taking a long time for this community to recover should they have to stay home from work due to illness and have extra healthcare bills.  Monetary donations help us fund where the need is most urgent. You can donate at https://galileecenter.org/donations/donate-form/

Thank you for all your support to the Galilee Center!
