Ways to Help
There are many ways to help the mission of the Galilee Center.
Galilee Center welcomes individuals, families, groups and students who want to donate their time and talents to be of service. Together we make a big difference helping families in need in the Eastern Coachella Valley. The Galilee Center needs your help to serve the under privileged in our community!
Monetary Donations and Financial Support
Galilee Center could not operate without the financial support from our donors. Your donations help us to provide assistance to disadvantaged and impoverished families. You can make a monetary donation online or mail a donation to the main center.
Galilee Center operates two thrift stores; one in Coachella and the other in Mecca. The thrift stores help raise funds for the Galilee Center and Lady Guadalupe Shelter, but also serve an important service in providing dignity to low-income families with a low-cost way to furnish their homes and purchase gently used clothing.
The Galilee Center will come to your home or Country Club and pick up donation items. We appreciate donations of gently used clothing, furniture, shoes, household and kitchen items.
Would you like to organize a pick-up day for your country club? Please contact us for a neighborhood flyer to distribute and to schedule a day.
Because COVID-19 and the mandated Stay In Place, we had to close our thrift stores to the public and are not accepting or picking up donations. Only donations of food or items that can help during this pandemic are accepted at our facility in Mecca.
Friends of Galilee
Friends of Galilee are individuals or groups who as members of their own unique community come together to help the Galilee Center on a regular basis. They may be members of a country club, church, business or social group, and all are dedicated to helping the working poor of the East Valley. Galilee staff and board members work with the Friends to organize fund-raisers, as well as food and clothing drives.
Friends of Galilee help both financially and by raising awareness in the larger Coachella Valley community of the plight of the working poor and migrant farm workers.
Please contact us to schedule a tour of the Galilee Center for your group.
