Galilee Center is proud to continue its heartfelt holiday tradition of providing Christmas food baskets and toys to local families in need. Each year, this cherished event brings joy, nourishment, and hope to thousands of children and parents across the eastern Coachella Valley.
This year’s walk-up food basket distribution will be held on Monday, December 22 at 2:00 PM, followed by a separate walk-up toy distribution on Tuesday, December 23 at 10:00 AM. Families must pre-register for the toy distribution by calling 760-396-9100.
“We are deeply grateful for the generosity that allows us to share Christmas Food Baskets with families throughout our community,” said Galilee Co-Founder Claudia Castorena. “These baskets help ensure families can enjoy a meaningful holiday meal together, and we’re truly thankful for the donors and volunteers whose kindness brings comfort and joy to so many.”
Galilee Center is currently seeking volunteers to assist with assembling food boxes and toy bags, as well as supporting distribution days. Volunteers may sign up by calling 760-396-9100 or emailing ltorres@galileecenter.org.
Volunteer opportunities are as follows:
December 16–18 – Assemble Toy Bags (9 AM – 5 PM)
Assist in preparing toy bags for distribution on December 23.
December 19 – Assemble 650 Christmas Food Boxes (10 AM)
Help prepare food boxes for families receiving Christmas baskets.
December 22 – Christmas Food Basket Distribution (2 PM)
Distribute 650 food baskets to families during the walk-up event.
December 23 – Christmas Toy Distribution (10 AM)
Help distribute toys to 2,000 local children ages 0–14.
