Food Distribution Update March 23, 2020

March 23, 2020

Dear Friends,

Many of you may be wondering how things are at the Galilee Center, and we are happy to share that we are able to keep serving our community. This week, we had to make some changes to our food distribution to keep everyone safe. We are pre-packaging all the food baskets and since many of our volunteers are in the high-risk category, our amazing staff had to step in and help. We got it all done and were able to provide food for nearly twice as many as we normally serve on a regular Thursday! We usually have around 250 families; on Thursday we served 390 families. We continue to serve the farm working men and women who are staying at our shelter. This is all thanks to our wonderful staff who works so hard and our supporters who keep donating. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

With the new restrictions in effect, our thrift stores are now closed and we may not pick up or accept any items for donation. We will let you know as soon as we are able to do so again, thank you for your patience meanwhile.

Our most urgent needs now are the following:
Toilet paper
Rice
Beans

We are able to purchase plenty of these items from our suppliers, please do not venture out of your home to go shopping and donate. If you, however, would like to help, please rather consider a financial contribution to help us buy enough of the sorely needed items.
$10, $20… any amount helps us since we get everything at discounted rates.

Thank you for helping us to continue to provide hope for our community!
