Galilee Center is once again celebrating the season of gratitude by providing 800 Thanksgiving Food Baskets to local families in need. Each basket contains all the items needed to prepare a hearty holiday meal and is made possible through the generosity of donors, community partners, and volunteers.
“This tradition represents the heart of what we do,” said Claudia Castorena, co-founder of Galilee Center. “Every Thanksgiving, our community comes together; donors, volunteers, and staff alike, to ensure families can gather around the table with joy and dignity. It’s a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we look out for one another.”
This year’s distribution will once again take place at Galilee Center, but now as a walk-up event
rather than a drive-thru. Families will have the opportunity to pick up their food baskets in person during the afternoon distribution.
Galilee Center is also seeking volunteers to help assemble and distribute the baskets in the days leading up to Thanksgiving:
- Monday, November 24 at 10 a.m. – Help assemble 800 food boxes and prepare them for distribution.
- Tuesday, November 25 at 10 a.m. – Help assemble 800 produce bags for local families.
- Wednesday, November 26 at 1 p.m. – Distribution Day! Help hand out 800 Thanksgiving food baskets during the walk-up distribution event.
To volunteer, please email ltorres@galileecenter.org to register and be part of this annual tradition of giving back.
Co-founder Gloria Gomez added, “We’re so grateful to everyone who helps make this event possible each year. Whether you’re volunteering your time or making a monetary donation, every act of generosity helps make the holidays brighter for our community neighbors in need.”
Throughout the years, Galilee Center has provided food, clothing, shelter, and other necessities to hundreds of families and individuals in need of support.
